    DSLR Camera Trap Flash Housing

I have been playing with a pre-made housing for remote flashes. It is intended for security cameras. It's weatherproof, has a two 1/4"-20 female holes on the bottom and two glands on the rear. The top and bottom are made of aluminum and the front and back are plastic. To hold the flash in I use a velcro strip. Since the whole top opens, it is easy to get at the flash to change batteries or adjust settings.

They are available on aliexpress. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/CCTV...76ba4c4dIGIxlc

Interesting idea. Any idea if you could fit a Camtraptions trigger-enabled Nikon SB in there?

The support looks good too, do you have the link?
Do you think that Nikon SD-8 battery pack fits there with flash?

    Hello Jeff,

Newbie here to camera trapping and just starting to put together my system. This looks like a great way to house my flashes but was wondering how well a wireless receiver would work inside an aluminum housing. Any experience here?

    Thanks,
    Carl

The housings are available in various sizes and a lot would depend on the size of the receiver. But, I think you would need to utilize a short cable from the flash shoe to the receiver to make it fit.

I'm useing these boxes here https://evergreencases.com/collectio...40378389889069 with some modifications and paint. If you Take the Version 58 also the external SD -8 Pack should fit. I can Post some Pictures later.
