Ruffed Grouse

I had been seeing this male ruffed grouse sitting in the same place on an old log, so I set a camera trap aimed at where he likes to hang out...I was hoping to catch him doing that drumming thing they do.... Surprisingly when I went to check it one morning he was right in front of the camera where he was supposed to be. ( Camera box is covered with a waterproof camo backpack cover. )

Canon T4i, 18-55 kit lens, Camtraptions PIR sensor and two Nikon SB 28's

Thanks John.... I greatly appreciate the helpful advice you gave me when I was first getting into this addictive hobby..I still have lots to learn but enjoying it a lot....Greatly enjoyed your videos also.

Thanks Jeff, and thanks for this site...This was about the most cooperative grouse I have ever seen...That was his favorite spot in the woods for now I guess...I left the camera trap there for three days and have over a thousand pictures to choose from..Good thing I learned to wire my SB 28's from you..I have them running on four D batteries.
