Has anybody experience with these active IR barrier units? (Not the PIR based ones) What are the pro & cons? What do I need to watch out for?
Any thoughts are welcome.

Well it looks like Trailmaster is out of business ;-(
Phone is disconnected and emails are not answered . Does anyone know more?

I think Trailmaster quit answering the phone and returning emails a couple years ago. Seems strange to end it that way. I would have thought they could have sold the name and assets to somebody. I was swapping emails with TRLcam a few weeks ago. I guess they are producing an active infrared sensor. I don't know if it is shipping yet.

I find the Cognisys Sabre does the job, you only need one unit, the laser beam can be set for distance and sensitivity with a whole lot more adjustments via the app on your phone. Although its a wired connection I have installed it in a small Peli case linked to a Camtraptions wireless transmitter for a complete cable free wireless unit. Worth a look.
